I have recently launched one of my favourite websites to date, www.absolutely-flawless.net
I have been a bit quiet on my website for a few months as we have been planning to relocate to Cornwall.
I have been so busy over the past few months I have struggled to find time adding new case studies to my site. I plan to add more case studies soon but in the meantime I wanted to share with you a few recently completed websites.
I can not believe its been three months since my last blog post. Its been such a busy period so thought it was time to write an update.
Off the back of a new brand design project I completed for North West based AdvizerTech, I was asked to redesign their existing website to fall inline with the rest of the offline marketing material.
For years Adobe Photoshop has been the preferred design tool for designing website visuals, however as we now need to design for a more complex set of deliverables such as desktop, tablet, mobile and wearable connected devices, is it still up to the job or is the new UI design tool Sketch the best tool for the job?
As part of a wider branding project I recently completed the design of a new billboard advert for Manchester based Cooksmill.
12 months to the day I left my full time job to become a full time?Freelance Web and Graphic Designer and wanted to take the opportunity to share with you some of my experiences and even offer advice for budding Freelancers.
Manchester based Alison Diamond approached me in July to re-design and build her new website. The old website was built on the WordPress CMS platform, which proved slow and clunky to use. I new solution was required.

I have been commissioned to design and roll out a fresh new brand for a large Manchester based catering store.

In April I was asked by the House Network to design a set of animated responsive banners for their industry leading website.
The new Elevate Interiors website has been designed and built mobile first and is built on the Zurb Foundation framework and is powered by CMSMS to provide an easy to use Content Management System.
As part of an ongoing digital marketing contract with Lancashire based Blackstar Handling Systems, I have launched a new CMS responsive website which will be central to Blackstar's marketing activity.
There is a lot of talk in the web industry about wether or not a Graphic Designer should be able to code. In short my answer is an absolute yes, read on and find out why.
I have just completed a new logo for a new fashion brand - Pryo.
Earlier this month I was asked by easyaccountingforcontractors.co.uk to provide my thoughts on Freelancing.
The new website and branding for Manchester based Rise Resourcing has been launched.
As we are all aware gone are the days of producing visuals in Photoshop, presenting key pages to the client and then slicing in Photoshop and building a website, typically called of the waterfall process.
Manchester based Rise Resourcing have commissioned me to design their new website, literature and presentation material.
I have just completed phase 1 of the website design build for CDM Windows. The new site features a Content Management System and is responsive so it works on all devices including phones, tablets and desktops.

It still surprises me how many designers still present website visuals as Jpgs or PDF's attached to an email or worse, printed out. I urge you to stop.
As the Internet becomes more inter-connected and data being transmitted across platforms via API's etc... its important to define user and information flow diagrams to first map out how everything will be connected and how this effects user journeys.
Over the past couple of years I have been in a state of flux, not knowing what direction to take my work, what was I, a Graphic Designer, Digital Designer, Front-End Web Designer... It turns out I'm all of these and more, what I have realised is that I'm no different than when I started out 18 years ago. I simply love image making and solving problems through design.
As part of a self promotional project, I have produced a set of icons that I will be using across all my self promotional material.
I have started work on a new 3D illustration of a Magic Marker using Cinema 4D.
I am always investigating new technologies, production tools and creative processes to provide clients with industry leading digital solutions. The latest addition to my development process is Foundation.
Its impossible to ignore the fact that more of us are browsing the web on our smartphone or tablet, the days of desktop computers and laptops for consumers are coming to an end, but why is this important for your business, why should you care?
Today I have been busy shooting new product photography for ArtyThreads. Here are two sample images from the shoot, all cleaned up, colour corrected and ready for the website and promotional material.

?Andrew has recently designed and developed 3 different websites for me 1 of which has already launched and is performing extremely well in terms of conversion rates.
In terms of the process from start to finish, I had an idea of features that i wanted on my site but I had no idea of the layout. Andrew gave me his own recommendation on what he thought would work well in order to make the customer journey as simple as possible and based on our current conversion rates he's got it quite spot on.
Andrew provided me with daily updates regarding the progress of the site from the design phase to the site build. In total the length of the project was just over 2 months. The website has passed all security checks and although the site is just 1 week old has surpassed all our forecasts and projections. I would highly recommend working with Andrew, his designs are aesthetically excellent and he has mastered simplifying the customer journey and has helped me get off to a flying start with my new business. ?Ocean Capital Ltd - www.paydaypixie.co.uk
